I was referred by my friend to use this Attorney. My request for an appointment was fast and within a week to see an attorney for my pre evaluation for SSDI. They sent me the paperwork and request for any medical history to help in the process. Very congenital staff at the front desk. Attorney Pfau is attentive and thorough which made the application process fast and easy. The attorney explained how the fee is not paid until an acceptance/approval from the SSA and backpay is issued, then and then only will a fee % will billed. So that sounds good to me.

I’m finally writing this review 2 1/2 years after the Social Security Administration decided Fully Favorable in my favor in September 2021. I highly recommend Rebecca Padilla. She is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I am grateful to her for her immense help in navigating the SSDI maze. When it took much longer for some of my benefits to be paid than it should have, Ms. Padilla immediately contacted my federal representative’s office. The benefits were paid within a week. Rebecca Padilla worked diligently with me from my first meeting with her in 2019 (| think). I had already been denied SSDI benefits twice when applying directly to SSA. While it took a couple of years for my claim to be approved, Ms. Padilla warned me at the beginning that it wouldn’t be an immediate decision. The COVID pandemic lengthened that period, but she was still able to work with me via phone during this difficult time. When a dear friend needed the same kind of help, I immediately referred her to Ms. Padilla, who was also able to help her.

This is my first time meeting with a lawyer but I knew right off the bat that Eli’s one of the good ones. Though he wasn’t able to accept my family’s case, Eli generously offered his consultation on our case details. If there was a time limit to his consultation, I never felt it. He thoroughly read through all of our documents, answered all of my questions, and took care to show me authoritative literature to help me understand how I can improve my case. I wish he was our lawyer and he advised us like he was, so I appreciate his care and time. Highly recommend him!

Unfortunately they were not able to take my case, as my case was more about not receiving Social Security Widows Benefits in the time frame that SSA provided (they said less than a month, it has been almost 5) versus being denied benefits. However, I wanted to leave a review regarding their response! I messaged Potter Cohen & Samulon asking if they could help me out, Eve replied and even though they were not able to service me, she redirected me to someone who could – my local congressman’s office, provided dates, times, addresses, everything I could possibly need. She told me to keep her posted and let her know how else she can assist me… all over Yelp message. I honestly didn’t know about this at all. She gave the best unexpected client service and that tells you lots about their firm.
The best part is that I did reach out to my local congressman’s office and my grandmothers widows benefits SUDDENLY got approved after three days of them reaching out to the SSA administration. Thank you Eve for your help.

My journey with Josh Potter of Potter, Cohen, Samulon & Padilla, started a couple years during a very unfortunate time in my life. I was diagnosed with a chronic illness and could no longer keep my job for medical reasons. I was told that because I had said long term illness I probably should apply for social security benefits. I was referred to Mr. Potter from my Rheumatologist. I was hesitant at first but I thought to myself, what the heck, I have worked all my life and now I am sick, and it would be really hard for me to work – so and I called. I told Mr. Potter my story. He kindly told me to come in and would discuss my case. For the first time in 6 months of my diagnosis, I felt hopeful. At least there was some light at the end of the tunnel. for me. Coming from a back ground of law myself, I knew he would not take my case unless he felt there was a chance of winning it he is a contingency attorney and they only win if I win. I was so excited and from the very start I felt very comfortable with my choice of attorney I chose.
My Case is now over and the outcome was wonderful. I had the pleasure and the opportunity to have worked with Mr. Potter for over two years. He kept me completely informed the whole process and held my hand the whole way through. He was kind and explained each step through the entirety of my case. My wife and I were looking for professional help with her father’s SSI case this June, where we planned to appeal to Social Security Office as we did not agree its decision to stop the SSI for my father in law. With Mr. Potter’s prompt help, we successfully applied for a reconsideration and the SSI was eventually resumed.
Mr. Potter is not the first attorney we met, but he is definitely the best one. He is very professional, kind, and obviously an expert in this area. Thelma Cohen came into my life in a time where I realized I could no longer work but I was at a such a young age that I knew I would have problems with disability. Thelma worked so hard for me for 2 1/2 years. I just had my hearing today and was approved for my permanent disability. Thelma Cohen has literally changed my life.
