Unfortunately they were not able to take my case, as my case was more about not receiving Social Security Widows Benefits in the time frame that SSA provided (they said less than a month, it has been almost 5) versus being denied benefits. However, I wanted to leave a review regarding their response! I messaged Potter Cohen & Samulon asking if they could help me out, Eve replied and even though they were not able to service me, she redirected me to someone who could – my local congressman’s office, provided dates, times, addresses, everything I could possibly need. She told me to keep her posted and let her know how else she can assist me… all over Yelp message. I honestly didn’t know about this at all. She gave the best unexpected client service and that tells you lots about their firm.
The best part is that I did reach out to my local congressman’s office and my grandmothers widows benefits SUDDENLY got approved after three days of them reaching out to the SSA administration. Thank you Eve for your help.
This is so overdue. I want to express my gratitude for all you have done for me over the years. You are definitely one of a kind.
You are truly committed to ensuring that individuals are getting the help they need, and looking out for their best interest. You take the time to know personally the challenges and needs that each person may face.
You are a remarkable human being. And make a difference in the world.
Again, that you for all you have done for me and others.
Hi Mr. Samulon and I don’t know if you remember me but you really helped me a lot I just wanted to say hi and thank you for everything.

My journey with Josh Potter of Potter Cohen & Samulon, started a couple years during a very unfortunate time in my life. I was diagnosed with a chronic illness and could no longer keep my job for medical reasons. I was told that because I had said long term illness I probably should apply for social security benefits. I was referred to Mr. Potter from my Rheumatologist. I was hesitant at first but I thought to myself, what the heck, I have worked all my life and now I am sick, and it would be really hard for me to work – so and I called. I told Mr. Potter my story. He kindly told me to come in and would discuss my case. For the first time in 6 months of my diagnosis, I felt hopeful. At least there was some light at the end of the tunnel. for me. Coming from a back ground of law myself, I knew he would not take my case unless he felt there was a chance of winning it he is a contingency attorney and they only win if I win. I was so excited and from the very start I felt very comfortable with my choice of attorney I chose.
My Case is now over and the outcome was wonderful. I had the pleasure and the opportunity to have worked with Mr. Potter for over two years. He kept me completely informed the whole process and held my hand the whole way through. He was kind and explained each step through the entirety of my case. He returned each call, each email within hours and they never gave up on me or my case. At times, I thought he would, but he kept pushing through.
I am very humbled and grateful that he was on my side and if you are looking for an attorney I couldn’t recommend anyone better! I would tell my own mother and family to use Mr. Joshua Potter.
Hope this helps make your decision.
Our sincere thanks for all you did to support our case toward a favorable decision. You are truly amazing in your research and presentation skills.
We are eternally grateful!
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding effort you put into my case. I am absolutely certain I would not have achieved the same favorable result without your expert counsel. Thank you as well for being so positive, kind, and respectful throughout the entire process. Applying for Social Security Disability benefits is not a desirable position for anyone to be in. Thank you for making the process as dignified and painless as possible. I am happy to know you are there to help people truly in need.
I just want to thank you for everything you have done for me! You really are a great lawyer. I had to share some of my most intimate secrets with you. You never made me feel afraid to tell the truth, never made me feel ashamed, and were always just so kind. You worked very hard on my case.
Thank you for everything!
Thank you for the work you performed on our behalf. Your guidance and support during this process was extremely meaningful to me. You are very good at what you do, but Rebecca you are also a kind and gentle person. I am so grateful and appreciative knowing you.
Dear Ms. Padilla,
During my last job my partner and I were one of the fastest, if not the fastest crew in the country. Most of the time our boss would critique and analyze our work to find ways to make us even faster, but very seldom gave us just a simple… “that a boy-good job.” So, my partner and I played a little game. Every day we made a point of saying to each other…”that a boy-you’re doing a great job!”
I hope you will accept this small gift of appreciation, and a heartfelt…”Way to go Rebecca-you do great work!”
As we both know, my body has paid a toll for forty years of hard work and hard play. I would rather be productive earning money every day, but my body did not go the distance. What I learned from this experience is that nurses, doctors, and first responders are not the only ones who save lives. Attorneys and judges save lives too…Thank you.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you, Ms. Cohen and Eliot for the professional help you gave me over the last several years. Especially you Rebecca, your kindness was very appreciated. Every time I called you I always received a prompt response back from you. Your firm really cares about the client.
Thank you for the help at a time I needed it most.
I am writing to sincerely thank Mr. Joshua Potter for his generous help in our SSI case.
My wife and I were looking for professional help with her father’s SSI case this June, where we planned to appeal to Social Security Office as we did not agree its decision to stop the SSI for my father in law. With Mr. Potter’s prompt help, we successfully applied for a reconsideration and the SSI was eventually resumed.
Mr. Potter is not the first attorney we met, but he is definitely the best one. He is very professional, kind, and obviously an expert in this area. While some attorneys we saw before kept warning us how difficult the case is or challenging our explanation, Mr. Potter was supportive even for the initial consultation.
I have to say, Mr. Potter helped us out when we were having a very difficult time. We really appreciate it.

Thelma Cohen came into my life in a time where I realized I could no longer work but I was at a such a young age that I knew I would have problems with disability. Thelma worked so hard for me for 2 1/2 years. I just had my hearing today and was approved for my permanent disability. Thelma Cohen has literally changed my life. This is an office that you can trust the attorneys that are working for you. Anybody looking for any type of help on Social Security Disability, Thelma Cohen should be your first and only call. Thank you Thelma so much for everything you did for me! You are incredible!

Had a SSDI appeal against a tough judge and Mr. Potter put together a case that convinced her that I was disabled. After 4 years it was over in 5 minutes.
